Frequently
Asked Questions

In short, Reiki is a form of alternative therapy that originated in Japan. It's based on the idea that a practitioner can channel healing energy into a recipient through their hands, promoting relaxation, stress reduction, and overall well-being. The word "Reiki" combines two Japanese words: "rei," meaning universal, and "ki," meaning life energy. Practitioners believe that by balancing and aligning this life energy, the body's natural healing processes are enhanced. Reiki sessions usually involve light touch or holding hands near the recipient's body.

Most often, you will feel relaxed at the end of a session. Reiki can feel like having a massage, without the actual touching of a massage. Because no two reiki sessions are the same, it is possible to feel energized after a session as well. It truly is unique to the person and the energies they require for that specific session. Regardless of how you feel, it is always recommended to ground yourself after a reiki session before driving or engaging in activity.

The general rule is three sessions for a specific issue, but it really depends on you. My question to you is, what is your intention with reiki? If you're using it for an issue that is of emotional, physical, mental, or spiritual in nature, then maybe one, two, or three sessions are all that's needed. You'll know when a specific issue has been addressed and/or resolved. If you're using a reiki session as you would for a massage (i.e. relaxation, rejuvenation tool), then purchase more sessions for the desired relaxation effect. Either way, it is recommended to have some time between sessions in order to integrate the work from the energies received.

Virtual reiki sessions require zoom access. As for the session, there is nothing specifically you need to do other than be open and receptive to the energies of reiki. I recommend that you do not come to the session highly caffeinated or with a very full stomach, or really anything that could disrupt your relaxing during the session. Comfortable clothing and a distraction-free environment is necessary.

If you're being called to learn reiki, trust the guidance and be sure to find the teacher who calls to you. As the saying goes, "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear."

IF intuitive guidance has come through, I will either cover this in conversation after the reiki sending portion is finished or type up an email with the guidance to send to you. I cannot guarantee that guidance will come through, as you receive what is needed for you at the time of the reiki session.
